Beating Time, (in more ways than one) originally formed as a quartet in Bray, Co. Wicklow ten years ago. It wasn't long before the word/music spread and soon, Beating Time became a chorus, growing in numbers and now averaging on 22 members. We still have our founder members and also some who will be singing for the first time in Convention in Athlone this year. We are thrilled to have been the National Gold Medallists for the past 5 years and silver medallists prior to that. We were also winners at the well known New Ross Festival for many years. We enjoy entertaining at a variety of venues from weddings and parties to festivals and theatres. We also sing at varying events throughout the year to fundraise for local charities. We have appeared on TV on several occasions and were recently invited to sing support to the American Drifters at the Gaiety Theatre in Dublin after they heard us doing their "under the boardwalk" number, a la -" barbershop style". What a wonderful evening that was. We have 2 Directors, Ruth Davis and Carmel Marnane. (because it takes two to keep us under control - we talk too much at rehearsal). Both were originally singing members of the group but were pushed out to direct as our previous directors had to depart for varying reasons. (I wonder was it the talking!) Anyway, they have shown that they are well able for us by keeping us in Gold. Please visit our website www.beatingtime.org THE WINNERS !!!
